Humraaz VS Jurm

Assalamualaikum wbt.. Haiii again! :D
This is my favourite label - Movie Surgery! (insert clapping here.. hee)

Yup! As you can predict from the tittles, this time, we'll do Hindustan movies' surgery! yeay!

I, personally, love both of these movies. They're quite same, but different impacts, and different endings. Why? Because of the choices the characters make and take. Suspense isn't it?? :p

Okay.. Let's review both stories first okay? :)

#1 - HUMRAAZ ( English : Our Secrets ) 

Main characters : 
-Bobby Deol - Raj Singhania (The same hero in Jurm!)
-Akshaye Khanna - Karan Malhotra (The drop-dead handsome villain)
-Amisha Patel - Priya Singhania ( Heroine, and the wife of our hero)

"Karan and Priya are the lead pair of a dance troupe & in love with each other. They land a gig on a cruise ship (destined for Malaysia) owned by a rich businessman named Raj.

Raj, who is attracted to Priya at first sight, doesn't know that Priya and Karan are in love. Raj quickly falls for Priya and she is totally swept off her feet. While Karan is unaware, Raj continues to romance and woo Priya. Eventually Raj proposes to Priya and she eagerly agrees to marry him.

Conflicts : The story takes a twist when we find out that Priya and Karan have been scheming and plotting all along to take Raj's money. So begins a treacherous love triangle, where greed, ambition and love cause turmoil in the lives of the three.Priya eventually marries Raj and continues to plot with Karan to get hold of the fortune.

Then, unexpectedly, Priya starts to develop feelings for Raj and falls in love with him. Raj eventually finds out about her treachery but forgives her and the climax is when Raj attacks Karan. In the end Priya picks up a gun and kills Karan and she and Raj get on with their lives."


#2 - JURM    

Main characters : 
-Bobby Deol - Avinash Malhotra (also a RICH businessman)
-Lara Dutta - Sanjana Malhotra (the villain heroine! the wife of our hero)
-Milind Soman - Rohit (the villain, hero's bestfriend and his lawyer too)

"Avinash and Sanjana's married life goes downhill when he realizes that she has been lying to him, even about petty things. Even though there is no concrete evidence, he is convinced that Sanjana is cheating on him. His attitude towards her changes, which becomes a cause of concern for his friends.

They try in all futility to talk sense into him, but his anger towards Sanjana increases. Things come to an ugly turn when Avinash abuses and embarrasses Sanjana in a party they are attending.

Sanjana heads back to their home and Avinash follows.

Conflicts : Next day, Avinash learns that he brutally killed Sanjana in front of her uncle. A case stands in the court and he is given a life sentence. Unconvinced of his guilt, he asks his lawyer and friend Rohit for help. Avinash promises Rohit the power of attorney of his property in lieu of helping him escape. Rohit helps him escape, but backstabs him by fleeing with the money and leaving him for dead.

Avinash is saved by his friend Sonia and nurtured back to safety and health. Determined to exact his revenge on Rohit, Avinash zeroes the location of latter in Malaysia. However, he is stunned to see Sanjana there, hale and alive, living with Rohit.

He also narrows down and confronts Sanjana's uncle, who confirms that Sanjana was having an affair with Rohit and that he helped the duo to remove Avinash from their life. An enraged Avinash kills Sanjana's uncle and sets out to seek revenge.

First, he confronts her, creating fear and panic in her heart. She tells about him to Rohit, who is sceptical and thinks that Sanjana is losing it. After Sanjana realizes this, she has a fight with him. Later, Avinash creates a rift between them, paying them back in their own coin. Unaware of all this drama, an Inspector is sent to find Avinash, who is still assumed to be missing.

The Inspector also turns up in Malaysia, following the trail. Here, Rohit accidentally runs into Avinash and realizes that Sanjana was true. Sanjana is on the verge of breaking up, and Rohit becomes afraid that she might spill the beans. Rohit and Sanjana attend a party, where she almost lets the secret out. They have a confrontation and turn to go home, just like it happened with Avinash.

They go into the parking lot, where Avinash is patiently waiting for them. Avinash knocks Sanjana unconscious and starts beating him up. Next day, Sanjana regains consciousness and finds that she has been arrested for killing Rohit.

Based on the circumstances, Sanjana is found guilty and given life imprisonment. The Inspector, who has deduced all the story by now, meets her in her cell and expresses his satisfaction over her plight. Avinash too meets her one last time, after which he meets Sonia, indicating that he will start his life afresh with her."

Firstly, I love it because the setting is in Malaysia!  A.W.E.S.O.M.E

Secondly, there's many moral values that if we go thoroughly, we'll see them.

 

1- Loyalty in Marriage 

Both our heroes and heroines are married, yet, one of them, is planning on cheating on their spouses. That's bad and totally wouldn't be allowed in Islam.
It is said in the Hadith that a man is to hit his wife if she is unfaithful, she'll receive 100 lashings in public or be put to death if she was married. No hitting by him is required as this is a crime against society.

Quran says he can hit her for 'ill-conduct'. Quran does not say the level of force that can be used. There are hadith that say he can only hit her with a miswak (which is like a toothbrush).

But, our beloved Prophet p.b.u.h, did not say to the woman if her husband is unfaithful that she can hit him. Why? Because a woman hitting her husband is an act of ill-conduct. :(

What does the woman do when the husband cheats? Same rule as for a woman... if he cheats, then he'll receive 100 lashings in public or be put to death if he was married.



2- See the Differences Between People Who Really Loves You, And Just Using You 

Both in the stories, the villain, uses the heroine to tackle and deceive the main hero. And yes, it's all because of the poverty. Even though the hero truly loves his wife, sadly, the wife, is too blind to see the love and make a fool of herself by loving a man who is bad and just using her for his own goods!

This is a twist in the stories! A twist in the decisions made by the heroines.

In Humraaz, the heroine, that can see her husband's true love and care, make a drastic decision! She tells her husband everything about the scheme, and break-up with her ex-lover-the-villain-guy.

But, in Jurm, the heroine, that is blinded by the unfaithful-love, proceed with her lover to get rid of her own husband! (sooo bad!). She...soon, as you had read in the plot, get what she deserve!

There's A LOT more values in the stories! But, you've to watch them yourself. Tell me when you did! ;)

I guarantee... They're great movies! :))
